UAE based financial services provider, Dunia Finance signed an agreement with the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA) to provide students with scholarships in the Post Graduate Programme (PGP) in Business Administration. The agreement was made to support distinguished students and groom new talent. According to the Financial Times’ Master’s in Management Rankings, the IIMA stands at 16th making it one of the best management schools in the world.
Starting from the 2015 academic year and for the next three years, scholarships will be granted to four post graduate students who have excelled in their academic studies. Two scholarships will be given to top first year students, while the remaining two scholarships will be granted to the second year students. In total the program will provide 12 scholarships over a period of three years. The collaboration between Dunia and IIMA aims to bring the academic talent closer to the corporate world.
Dunia and IIMA already have a close relationship. Dunia was established by a number of IIMA alumni and has been a top MBA recruiter since. Their strategy is to provide expertise through careful talent development. So the scholarship agreement is a new method for future success.
Rajeev Kakar, Managing Director and CEO of Dunia, who is also an Alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad, said: “IIMA is a globally recognised and a leading educational institution, dedicated to developing world-class talent; a theme that resonates well with us at Dunia, as we too are fully committed to hiring and continuously developing world-class talent. Earlier this year, we hired six quality IIM graduates as part of our on-going recruitment drive and our dedication to connecting education to the industry in which we work, and we hope to take on even more talented young minds through this scholarship agreement, by offering exciting and diverse international careers tailored to further learning and advancement.”
